23 minutes - 1.05 miles - Morgan & Foster
Who knew Morgan would turn out to be a lesson horse? Gone are the days of me swearing no one else would ever ride her, and I only partially curse under my breath when she gives the kid a ride.
It seemed like the right time to pop him in the saddle and take him for a walk off property. I attached reins to her halter just so he would get used to holding them rather than the horn. Showed him how to mount properly, and off we went.
We went up and down some mild washes so he could learn to balance as she stepped up or down, she stepped lightly over the fallen log, and he learned how to get her to back up using the "reins."
Morgan was really well behaved, and only slightly mugged me for the carrots she knew where hidden in my front pocket. Good girl Morgie.
As we approached the gate, I looped the lead rope over the saddle horn and let the two of them walk "alone." He thought he was big stuff and she was a model of good behavior.
Oh how I love this horse!

Hey Morgan, it's your turn for a walk!
Who, Me?
I think I'll just stay here and snack. You go ahead without me, I'll be fine.
Seriously Morg, those are the most adorable ears ever. I could almost give up riding just to stare at them for a while. But ... I hear there are carrots for Morgans who go for rides.
CARROTS?! Mmmm, Let's go!

Christmas Morning Escape
Bill went out to feed the horses this morning ... only to find them running around the property. Someone (me) did not secure the turn out gate and one of the horses must have pushed their way out. And of course, where one goes, the others must follow.
Bill came in the house to tell me about the escapees, so I grabbed the camera and a bag of carrot slices and headed outside. I announced that Santa brought me exactly what I wanted ... a Morgan! Bill was not amused.
Majesty was the first one to be caught. Wasabi realized the goat was eating carrots, so she came running over to get a few herself. Who was the hardest to catch? *sigh* Morgan. She only came in when she realized everyone else was in their stalls having breakfast and she was all alone. Needless to say, no carrots for her.

Look which two were pretending not to see me or the carrots. Once Sundance figured out I had snacks, she ditched Morgan in a heartbeat
